Uncasville-Anna May (Ostrowski) Gdula, age 90, passed away at her residence on May 3, 2021. She was born in Norwich on December 27, 1930 to the late Anthony and Anna Ostrowski. She was married to Emil J. Gdula. He predeceased her in 1971.
Anna retired from Connecticut College and moved to Florida, where she resided for over 40 years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and square dancing. She was known for making beautiful quilts. She loved spending time with her family.
She was the youngest of six children; Joseph, Edward and Anthony Ostrowski, Wanda Mondor and Genevieve Podziewski. They all predeceased her.
Anna is survived by two children Michael Gdula and his wife Denise of Uncasville, and Emily Gdula and her husband Arthur Chappell of Maine. She also leaves behind grandchildren Jennifer Gdula Boulch and her husband Keith, Jami Gdula and her husband Justin Olshan and Michael Gdula Jr. and his fiancé Kristy Bragdon as well as great grandchildren Logan, Quinten, Karas, Alex and Neve.
Family and friends may visit Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 53 Norwich New London Tpke., Uncasville on Friday from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bowell Ave., Norwich.
