A loving son, father and brother is now with our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven. Dwayne succumbed to a short, hard fought battle with cancer. He passed away on May 30, 2021, at the age of 53. He was born August 8, 1967 in Baton Rouge, LA. Dwayne was a life-long self-employed person who enjoyed all the benefits it had to offer. His friendship to all he knew and met will never be forgotten. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help a person in need of help. There would never be an expectation of a returned favor. Dwayne enjoyed fishing, hunting and any other outdoor activities. Dwayne is survived by two sons: Joshua Peter Huysmans and Blaize Joseph Huysmans, both of St. Francisville. Dwayne is also survived by the mother of his two sons and former wife, Darlene Melancon of St. Francisville; brother, Gregory Ferdinand Huysmans and his wife Reiko Midorikawa Huysmans of Georgetown, TX; brother, Anthony Huysmans of Dallas, TX; nephew, Micah Yoshiyuki Huysmans of Georgetown, TX; and niece, Hallie Nicole Huysmans of Dallas, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents: Peter Hendricus Huysmans and Elly Helena Huysmans, both originally from Amsterdam, Holland. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, from 9 am until memorial service at 11 am.
