A proud graduate of Williamston HS class of 69' and MSU, she was cherished by hundreds in the community. Her love and dedication to family and friends was something to be admired. Known by colleagues as a trusted and passionate teacher, mediator, and mentor. She was most proud of her contributions to Head Start, the Ingham County court system and the Michigan Disability Rights Coalition.
She was this larger-than-life force for good that touched countless lives. A true lover of nature and the outdoors, she always blessed her surroundings with an aura of awesomeness and never gave up on anything she set out to do.
She will forever be remembered as the best wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, coworker, and mee-maw that anyone could ask for.
Known as a proud Christian and powerful advocate, she humbly requests donations be made to the Michigan Disability Rights Coalition and Riverview Church.
Myrtle is survived, and her memory cherished, by her loving husband Robert Michael LaFay; one son Robert Gregg LaFay (Casey); one daughter Melissa Gardner (Brad); five brothers Stan Gregg, Larry Gregg (Judie), Jim Gregg (Joyce), Frank Gregg (Beth), Dwight Gregg (Sherry); three sisters Jeanene Bruner (Lawrence), Mary Carroll, Ruth Brauneck (Fred); and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Hollis and Ila Jean Gregg; two brothers Charles Gregg and David Gregg (Cora Sue); and one brother-in-law Thomas Carroll (Mary).
Memorial visitation to be held June 25, 2021 from 2PM to 8PM at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W Saginaw St. Lansing, MI 48917. Funeral services, followed by a light lunch, to be held June 26, 2021 at 11AM at Riverview Church, 7533 W St. Joseph Hwy. Lansing, MI 48917.
