Kathaleen L. (Owen) Gosha

Kathaleen L. “Kay” Gosha, 96, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Wednesday June 2, 2021 at St. Anne’s Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 8, 1924 in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Earl and Julia (Morrison) McKinney. Kay married Stanley R. Owen in February of 1944 and two sons became of this union. She then married George W. Gosha in 1954. Kay was employed by Barber Coleman, Rockford Screw Products and Owen Plumbing and Heating. She was a faithful member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church up until she became ill. Kay attended Bible Study and was part of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and doing cross stitch. Most of all, Kay loved her children and grandchildren.

Kay is loved and missed by her children, Stanley (Bonnie) Owen and Steven (Diane) Owen; grandchildren, Russell (Monica) Owen, Steven E. (Mary) Owen, David Owen, Kami (Eric) Lund, and Michelle Jost; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George W. Gosha and the father of her children, Stanley R. Owen.

A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115 with a visitation to be held from 1:00 p.m., until the time of services. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
