Billie Jean Steele, 88, of Killeen, Texas left this world and went to The Promised Land on Saturday, June 5th, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Steele, one sister, one brother, both parents and one great grandson. She is survived by her 3 sons, Don Taylor of Belton, Jerry Dow of Killeen, and Ricky Dow of Salado. She also leaves behind a sister, Bobbie Henderson, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
While she was known for being tough, Billie was an amazing, selfless mother. She loved her children, grandchildren and her greats, with all of her heart. Even in her last days battling memory loss, she often only spoke of her sons and how much they meant to her. Services will be held on Saturday, June 12th at 10 am at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple, Texas.
