Donald James “Don” Chrudimsky received his final checkered flag on July 16, 2021. He was born March 12, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI. Don was raised in Birnamwood, WI and lived in the surrounding area until moving to Texas in 1979.
On August 26, 1972 Don married Diana Schoenherr at Zion Lutheran Church in Stratford, WI.
Don was a mechanic his whole life. In August 1987 he opened his own Volvo repair shop – Austin Volvo Services. Later the name was changed to Austin Vol-Tech Services, Inc. Don retired in 2017.
Don enjoyed racing and drove his own cars (#39) for many years and received many checkered flags. He was an avid Nascar fan, and in March and August, Bristol Motor Speedway was the place to be. In addition to racing cars, Don enjoyed hunting, bowling and was a member of the American Legion in Round Rock, TX.
Survivors include his wife, Diana of Pflugerville; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jessie Chrudimsky of Hutto; four granddaughters, Shelby, Maggie, Ella and Kate of Hutto; sister, Phyllis Michlig of Wausau, WI and half brother, Dennis Weinstock and his wife Pat.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.
