Henry "Ray" Hunley

Henry Ray Hunley, age 95, of Old Hickory, Tennessee passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021. Henry was born July 23, 1926 in Red Boiling Springs, TN to his parents Henry Carvin and Della Elizabeth Johnson Hunley who predecease him.

Henry was a diesel mechanic and worked for BFI industries for many years. He was a US Army veteran and was a member of Pennington Bend Church of Christ. He loved spending his spare time with his woodworking skills making Dulcimer's which he gave to his family and was a talented player. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Hunley is predeceased by his wife of 73 years Dauphine Walker Hunley, by his daughter Rita Gail Hunley Carr, by his brothers and sisters Amos (Cleo) Hunley, Eva Lee Hunley, Nettie (Marion) Hunley Morfield, Alma (Richard) Hunley McGuire, Henry Carvin "Junior" (Nancy) Hunley, Joyce Hunley, Doyle (Pegg) Hunley, Fred (Virginia) Hunley and Ted (Elida)Hunley.

Mr. Hunley is survived by his daughters Denise Evon Hunley (Jeff) Bell and Eloise Hunley (Wayne) Robinson, by his son-in-law Dean Carr, by his grandchildren April "Evonne" Carr (Eric) Reynolds, Jonathan Carr, Levi Bell, Daniel (Angela) Robinson, Jeremy Robinson, Felicia Robinson Blankenship, and by his great grandchildren Riley Reynolds, Owen Reynolds, Sadie Robinson, Logan Robinson, Kaiden Blankenship, Tessa Blankenship and brother and sister Wanda Hunley (Joe) Duarte and Roger (Joyce) Hunley.

A graveside service for Mr. Hunley will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Alive Hospice.
