Douglas R. Ohrt of Grover died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in Grover. He was born on February 21, 1957 in Kankakee, Illinois to Richard O. and Rosalie A. (Varvel) Ohrt. He attended school and graduated from high school in Kankakee.
Douglas was a construction worker in Illinois and Arizona. He worked for Hensel Phelps painting, erecting cranes and working with heavy equipment. He then for Roche Constructors as the equipment manager.
He married Lisa “Dusty” T. Browner in Estes Park, Colorado.
He was a life member of NRA – National Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Douglas loved animals, cats and dogs. He was a hard worker and very skilled. He could do anything, he loved the mountains of Colorado. He was good hearted and had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Dusty of Ault; God-daughter Tara Brawner of Greeley; parents Richard and Rose Ohrt of Arkansas; sisters Deb Ohrt and Carrie Chaney both of Tuscon, Arizona; brothers Curt Ohrt of Nevada and Tim Ohrt of Arizona; a special uncle Fred “Fritz” Ohrt; mother-in-law Patsy “Mom” Brewer; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley.
