Clara Mae Nussbaum, 90, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at St. Joseph Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 20, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 7500 Oak Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church. Mrs. Nussbaum was born December 26, 1919 in Crawford County, Iowa, daughter of Emil and Laura (Stahl) Wiese. She had worked for the Department of Agriculture in the invoice and payments department, retiring after 25 years of service. Mrs. Nussbaum was a U.S. Navy veteran, active in World War II. She was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church serving on the Altar Guild and in its Women’s Circles. She was an accomplished seamstress and sewing was her passion. Mrs. Nussbaum is survived by her husband Arthur Nussbaum; daughter Anita Nussbaum; brother Marcus Wiese; and sisters Mary Gundelach and Vera Rogers.
