Dorothy Helen (Bimson) Bair, age 85, of Bloomington, died Tuesday morning in Bloomington Hospital. Born September 26, 1925 in Lincoln, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Oliver H. and Essel (Howard) Bimson. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a major in art. She taught public school art in Illinois and Iowa and privately in Bloomington. She married Edward J. Bair in 1958 and has been a resident of Bloomington ever since. Being a homemaker and artist, she painted many years in watercolors. She was a member of and exhibited with Hoosier Salon, Brown Co. Art Guild, Indiana Heritage Arts and Watercolor Society of Indiana. For over 20 years her work was shown by The Gallery in Bloomington and her work was featured in several solo shows. She was a charter member of the Bloomington Hospital Auxiliary and served 8 years as a docent in the I.U. Fine Arts Museum. She also did volunteer work at Hilltop Garden. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her nephew David Bair of OK., her nieces Susan Bair McCormick of CO., Diana Bair Cramer of CO., Linda Bair Smith of CA., and Alice Bair Crider of CO.
There will be no services or visitation at this time. Day Funeral Home in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.
