Joe “Joe Dan” Sikorski, Jr., 87, entered into rest on March 8, 2011 at the Madisonville Care Center. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10th at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with a Rosary to begin at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 11th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Reverend Monsignor John A. McCaffrey as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Joe was born January 30, 1924 in Brazos County, the son of Joe Sikorski, Sr. and Lottie Sikorski. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, receiving three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan, the American Legion, Earl Graham Post #159 and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Judy Sikorski; and his twin sister, Viola Penicka.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Sikorski; son and daughter-in-law, Danny Joe and Brenda Sikorski; brother and his wife, Edmond and Joyce Sikorski; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Joe Sikorski and his wife Vanessa, Jill Becka and her husband Grant, Jared Sikorski, Joshua Sikorski, Holley Howell and Michelle Hervey and her husband Aaron; three great grandchildren, Clayton Sikorski, Kaylin Howell and Kylee Becka.
