Paul Polyak, Jr., 62, of Belton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery South. Mr. Polyak was born June 18, 1948 in San Diego, California, son of Paul Sr. and Dorothy (Rossnagel) Polyak, the first of six children. Paul graduated in June, 1966 from South Mountain High School, the same day Paul, Sr. received his G.E.D. The family celebrated with pie and ice cream after the graduation ceremony at a coffee shop in downtown Phoenix. He joined the U.S. Army after graduation where he worked on test drones at White Sands Missile Range while stationed at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. He also served a tour of duty in Korea. He was honorably discharged in December, 1974. Paul spent 20 years as a truck driver for Air Cargo in Phoenix, Arizona and later retired after seven years with DAT's Trucking. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Jerry Desmond. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jacqueline (Spaulding) Polyak of the home; son Paul and wife Judy Polyak; daughter Kristina Polyak; his very special grandson Jacob Paul Polyak; his siblings Pat Desmond, Doug Polyak, Faye and husband John Whritenour, Glenn and wife Bonnie Polyak, and Betsy and husband Ralph Gray.
