Johnnie Lee Anderson, 85, of Lufkin, was born August 16, 1925 in Alvin, Texas, the daughter of the late Juanita Gladys (Dobert) and John Brennen. She passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and Andy celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on March 20, 2011. She enjoyed sewing and made quilts for family members. Everyone who ever met her loved her. Animals were drawn to her and loved her. Mrs. Anderson was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital's Gift Shop for 10 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, H. G. "Andy" Anderson of Lufkin; daughter, Nancy Malmstrom of Tyler; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy Sundberg and husband Bob of Sherman, Susan and Thomas Badidos of League City, and Darlene and David Cheever of Denver, Colorado; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a number of other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her sisters, Nita Marie Smart and Doris Jinks.

Memorial services for Mrs. Anderson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011 in the Henderson Chapel of First United Methodist Church, with Reverend D. Nick Sholars officiating.
The family will receive friends in the Allen Parlor following the service.
