Stephen Anthony Albanese passed away peacefully on September 5, 2011. Steve was born on July 13, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio to Adolph and Josephine Albanese (deceased). After graduating from East High School, he served for three years in the Army Air Corp. After discharge, he married Doris (nee Pittts, deceased) and settled in Cleveland to raise their three children, John (Susan nee Vincent), Stephen (Kathleen, nee Lehane) and Deborah Moore (David). During this time Steve worked in management for Midwest Sani-Clean/Ohio Garment Rental. He was active with the little league and scouting programs in the Mayfield Heights area. In 1981, he married Judith (nee Ercegovic) and moved to Rocky River where they raised two children, Christopher and Elizabeth. During this time he taught business classes at Myers University and continued to be involved with youth sports programs, Meals on Wheels and with his parish community. Steve was loved by many and held in high esteem for his kind, gentle ways and wonderful cooking. In addition to his wife and children, he leaves behind his brothers
Adolph (Terry), Victor and Robert, grandchildren Stephen, Kelly (Brad Thobe), Lauren (Lew Nevins), Katelyn, Joelle, Dale (Fifi), Leslie, Frances Albanese, Sean and Sydney Moore. Great grandchildren Jackson, Brady and Quinn Thobe and Liam Nevins.
The family will receive friends at the Craciun Berry Funeral Home 23040 Center ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio on Thursday, Sept 8, from 2-4 and 6-8pm.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Rocky River, Friday, Sept 9, at 11am. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Christopher Church, Father Ostrowski Mission Fund, 20141 Detroit Road,Rocky River, Ohio 44116.
