Clarence Edward "Chuck" O'Connor of Memphis, Tennessee, the beloved husband of Jeanne Clark O'Connor, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2011. He was born in Washington, Indiana to Nellie Mae and Clarence Edward O'Connor on February 19, 1920. After serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII, he worked as an electrician at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for 43 years. In retirement he became the expert fudge maker for The Candy Store, which he and his wife owned. They were married for 63 years and have four children: Chuck O'Connor (Jan) of Maryville, Tennessee; Judy Eison (Bob) and Christie Evans (Kenny) of Southaven, Mississippi; and Janice Hall (Andy) of Warrenton, Virginia. He was the cherished grandfather to 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He dedicated much of his personal time to Trinity Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He enjoyed gardening and always had a dog or two to keep him company. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday December 8 at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday December 9, at Trinity Baptist Church in Southaven, Mississippi. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Midtown in Memphis.
