Born on November 27, 1957, Steve was the third child of Ward and Diane Johnson. While growing up, Steve and his family lived at various places around the country. After moving to Maine as a teenager he attended Fort Fairfield High School and University of Maine. He then moved to the Portland area where he lived until his passing.
Steve was a kind, thoughtful and intelligent man. He loved reading, was very artistic and was an exceptional photographer. Steve’s premier talent though was working with plants. If ever there was a person with a “green thumb” it was Steve. Any plants or flowers he touched flourished under his care. He loved tending his gardens and flower beds and was quite knowledgeable about botany in general.
Steve worked for many years as a florist but more recently has been employed by Hannaford Brothers.
