He was born in Keene December 30, 1924, the son of Edouard and Alice (Lageault) Aveline and has resided in the Swanzey and Keene area all of his life.
Mr. Aveline retired in 1987 from the Markem Corporation where he had been employed for twenty years. He had previously been employed at Homestead Woolen Mills for 12 years and with Sprague and Carleton for 14 years.
He married Evelyn Daniel, on November 12, 1949 in a ceremony held in Ashuelot, NH.
He had been a communicant at St. Anthony's Church and was active with the West Swanzey Sidewalk Committee.
Mr. Aveline was an avid Red Sox fan, a man with a quick wit and engaging personality he looked forward to time spent with family and always enjoyed having them around. He enjoyed reading mystery and western stories and was frequently refinishing different pieces of furniture for friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, of 62 years, Evelyn (Daniel) Aveline of Keene, a daughter Dianna Cheever and her husband Richard of Bennington, VT., two grandchildren: Danielle Potter and her husband Kyle of Lebanon and Jamie Day and her husband Craig of Walpole, two great grandchildren: Rylee Day and Maddy Day, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Prayer Service for Mr. Aveline will be held Monday, June 18 at 10:00 AM at the Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro Street, Keene, family and friends are invited. There are no public calling hours. Burial will be private.
