November 11, 1944 – October 11, 2012
Stanley Ray Montgomery was born in Oklahoma City to Ray and Evond Montgomery. He was a Journeyman Plumber out of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union 344 in Oklahoma City. While in the Army in Vietnam, he served as an engineer in direct support of operations and received VSM w/Bronze Star. He is survived by his mother Evond Drake, brother Thomas Montgomery, sister Linda Gayle McNatt (Mike), nephews Randy Montgomery, Mark Montgomery, Matthew McNatt (Nan), and niece Jennifer Wachter (Aaron). He was preceded in death by his father Ray Montgomery.
He will always be remembered for his ability to design and build projects from the ground up, to improvise solutions from very little, and to make others laugh with his antics. He had a general electronics know-how, an interest in the end times, and a love for ham radio. Stan, with call K5BAO, had thousands of QSO’s (contacts) with other ham operators all over the world.
He loved to tell people about Jesus. His passing, in "ham language," marked his final "End of Transmission. Over and out"—a shift in the quality and location of Stan's life, but not an end to his life itself.
