Dorothy Elaine Moir, 92, of Fort Smith, passed away Monday, October 29, 2012, in Fort Smith. She was born February 23, 1920 in Camden, NJ to the late George and Helen Histand. She was retired from Quality Control at Gerber Foods. She was on the Bowling League at Bowling World for many years. She loved to paint and give her paintings away to all of her friends. She loved life and lived it to her fullest. Everyone was always welcome in her home. When she was out she never met a stranger. She especially loved cook outs with her family.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, November 1, 2012, at For Smith National Cemetery Pavilion with Father John Maxwell officiating. Burial will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by one daughter Margaret Shockley and husband James of Fort Smith, two sons Don S. Moir and wife Susan of Little Rock, AR and John Moir and wife Jan of Fort Smith, five grandchildren Lisa Marie, Brandy, Phillip, Teri and Donnie, five great grandchildren Brandon, Jason, Kayla, Aryan and Brooklyn and in-laws Velia Moir of Fort Smith and Judy and Ken O’Donnell of Fort Smith.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening, October 31, 2012, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
