Born August 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Annie Curry Hodges and was also preceded in death by one son, John Gibson; one brother, Ted Hodges and three sisters, Kathleen Bland, Marie Witt and Edna Hodges. She was a retired meat cutter with Virginia Markets and was a member of Campbell Avenue Baptist Church.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her daughter, Deanna Gibson of Madison Heights; son, G.B. Gibson of New Castle; a sister, Ina Trail of Franklin, NH; six grandchildren, Dean, Lisa, Tamara, Genie, Mark, and Carolyn; three great grandchildren, Zach, Jacob, and Elizabeth and two great-great-grandchildren, Graycin and Kylee.
The family would like to thank their “special Angel”, Bee Patrick and also Stella Harlow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders Assoc. for research.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest with the Rev. D. Jack Hamilton officiating.
