During her 101 years, Aichele loved to travel the world, visiting almost every continent. In her 90s, she continued travelling to Kauai, Hawaii & Seal Beach, CA. She loved to “talk story” about her travels, the Great Depression & World War II. She remembers tapping on doors to get into “speak easies.”
Ms. Aichele is a graduate of Columbia High School, class of 1929 & Montclair University, class of 1933, majoring in math. Upon graduation, she worked for Standard Oil of New Jersey in Rockefeller Center, NY.
Her parents, brothers and sisters predeceased her: George Aichele and his wife Gladys, Carl Aichele and his wife Delora and a sister Ann.
She is survived by a niece, Carla Watson and her husband Perry of Seal Beach, CA & Hanalei, Kauai; a grand niece, Haily Watson of Hanalei; a grand nephew, Ed Watson of San Francisco; cousins: Dick & Maureen Aichele of Saratoga Springs, NY, Ruth & Walt Gann of Wilmington, DE, ad many kind friends & nurses at Harrogate.
