Johnson, Oscar Kelly (Nunie) passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Gail; her son, Jarrel (Debby) of New Orleans; brother, Edward Carl (Carlie) partner Mary; 10 beloved nieces and nephews; and numerous grand-niece and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Kelly and Callie Johnson; brother John William Johnson; and sister, Mary Virginia Blythe. Oscar was born in Pompano in November of 1925. He proudly served in the US Army and was taken prisoner of war in Germany. He received several accommodations including 4 bronze stars and the Purple Heart. He attended the University of Florida & remained an avid UF fan-even naming his dog, “Gator”. He was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church/Christ Church and faithfully served as usher for 70 years. A loving husband, great family man and friend. He will be missed but take comfort in knowing he is in the arms of his Savior. In lieu of flowers, please honor him through Christ Church or the Humane Society.
