Prentice lived in Vinton since 2006, moving from Sulphur. He was a lifetime member of both the VFW and the American Legion. Prentice was a past member of the Orange Carpenters Local. He was a proud WWII veteran of the US Navy.
Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Yuline Malone of Vinton; son, Thomas Malone and wife Diana of Vinton; step daughters, Betty Boudreaux of Hackberry, Sue Roe and husband Ralph of Robeline, Marie Moreida of Westlake, and Lynn Rhodes and husband Cecil of Warren, Texas; step sons, Johnny Picard and wife Debbie of Brooklyn, Texas, Michael Picard of San Antonie, Texas, and Warren Picard and wife Pollyann of Sulphur; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Tommye Malone; second wife Francis Malone; daughter Gwen Hibbard; stepsons, Frank Mancil and Mike Mancil.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, in Crossroads Baptist Church in Vinton. The Rev. Rob Tibbitts will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Monday at the church. Cremation was entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
