Floyd W. “Bill” Coffey, 79, Kokomo, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at North Woods Village. He was born May 11, 1934, in Persia, Tennessee, to Hogan and Orpha (Anders) Coffey. On May 31, 1971, he married Diane (Emmy) Coffey, and she survives.
Bill served his country in the United States Army. He attended Indiana University and graduated with a masters degree. He went on to work at General Motors, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed IU basketball, couples golf on Sunday’s at the American Legion, and attending his grandson’s baseball and soccer games. He was an excellent husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Wendy M. Richman; grandson, Austin (Brielle) W. Pridemore; one great-grandson, Cannon Austin Pridemore, all of Kokomo; sisters-in-law, Glenell Coffey, Mary Coffey, and Sandy Coffey; brother-in-law, Dave (Janette) McGowan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, John H. Coffey, James S. Coffey, and Randall G. Coffey.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Degraaff officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
