Alvina A. Hartman, 93, of Victoria passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013. She was born in Shiner on February 17, 1920, to the late Adolph and Martha Gerloff Maeker. She was a homemaker, a member and volunteer of Trinity Lutheran Church and member of the Afternoon Circle. She was also an active member and past President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 4146, and a member of the Dacosta Sons of Hermann. Through church and the auxiliary she volunteered services at the VA clinic and Twin Pines Nursing for many years. Alvina was the most wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to cook for all her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Delores Steen (Victoria); four grandchildren, Cheryl (Gary) Garrison, Jerome Kaiser, Rebecca (Rodney) Adkison, and Rhonda (Paul) Brzozowske; six great-grandchildren and two great great-grandsons.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Pinky” Hartman, daughter, Sandra Kaiser, and sister, Hilda Migl.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Rosewood Funeral Chapels.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, October 4, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rev. Barney Matocha officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Otto Migl, Jr., Ray Cracknell, Logan Garrison, Preston Moczygemba, Darren Gisler and James Huddleston.
