Albert was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Compton Davis, his son, Albert Baker Davis, Jr. and his brother Gardner Haywood Davis. Albert died on October 21, 2013 to go be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his beautiful wife, Margaret, and his oldest son, Albert, Jr.
Albert attended the Eufaula City Schools and graduated in 1938. He attended the University of Alabama and graduated in 1942. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in September, 1942 and served for over three years. He moved to Montgomery and worked in the State Revenue Department. He moved to Atlanta, GA. in 1947 and was employed by Amoco Oil Co.
Albert married Susie Margaret Compton on January 18, 1948. While in Atlanta, he had two children, Albert Baker Davis, Jr. and George Compton Davis. He received his law degree from Atlanta Law School in 1952. He was transferred by Amoco to Statesboro, GA. in 1952. While in Statesboro, their daughter, Sara Rebecca Davis was born.
Albert was transferred back to Atlanta by Amoco and lived there until October 1968 at which time he purchased the Amoco Oil distributor in Clayton, AL. and moved back to Eufaula. He operated A. B. Davis Oil Co. until 1983 when he sold the business to his son, Albert B. Davis, Jr., who operated the business until his death in February, 1997. The business was sold and Albert and his wife moved to Roswell GA. to be near his son George C. Davis. Albert and his wife lived at Chambrel at Roswell, a retirement complex. Albert and Margaret moved to Somerby of Alpharetta in July 2009.
Albert is survived by his son, George Compton Davis and his wife, Judy Balentyne Davis; his daughter, Sara Rebecca Davis Shuler and her husband Jeffery Duncan Burse ; his grandchildren, Sara Rebecca Shuler; Joanna Margaret Davis; Jacob Albert Davis.
