Jack H. DeBaere, 79 of Machesney Park, passed away October 28, 2013. Born February 2, 1934 in Rockford, he was the son of Desire’ and Mary (VanDenDrische) DeBaere. He married Carol Peterson June 4, 1971 in Rockford.
An Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Jack was an employee of National Lock for 29 years and Rockford Products for 15 years where he retired.
Jack, an avid Bears and Cubs fan, enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, taking casino trips, and most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Carol DeBaere; daughters; Sue DeBaere and Sandi (Kevin) Robison; grandchildren, Katie and Bradley Robison; sister, Josephine (Mario) Agostini; brothers, John (Martha) and Jim (Liz) DeBaere; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, and loving brothers and sisters; Jerry, Jeff, Julian, Jeanette, and Janice.
Funeral service, 10 a.m. Saturday, November 2, at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, Pastor Wendell Maynard officiating. Visitation 9 a.m. to time of service. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for memorial fund to be established at a later date.
