Ronald Alan Greenfield, MD, 61, died Sunday, December 1, 2013, after a long, hard fought battle with renal cancer with his wife at his side. Ronald is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tawana Murdock Greenfield, son, David of Edmond and daughter, Precious Greenfield-Novick, her husband, James and two grandchildren, River and Roman Novick of Deer Creek. He is also survived by his parents, Seymour and Elaine Greenfield, of White Oak, PA, brother Jeff Greenfield of Fort Lauderdale, FL and sister, Becky Pinsker of Pittsburgh, PA, as well as many special nieces and nephews. Ron was born in McKeesport, PA, and earned his B.S. from The Ohio State University, earned his M.D. from the State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, N.Y. and his M.S. in Epidemiology from the University of Oklahoma. Following his Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, he moved to Edmond to accept a position with the Infectious Disease Section in the Department of Medicine at OUMC. Ron’s last position at OUHSC, Dept. of Medicine was that of Professor of Medicine. Ronald was passionate about his work with the AIDS community including the Ryan White Foundation and AIDS Care Fund. He touched so many in lives and will be missed.
