BOSSIER CITY, LA – Perry Allen Pitts ”Papaw” was surrounded by his loving family when he went to his heavenly home on December 24, 2013 and is now at peace. He was born in Bessemer, Alabama on April 28, 1929 and moved to Louisiana in 1955.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel Sunday, December 29, 2013, graveside services will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park with Brother Ben Jordan officiating.
Perry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a paint contractor for over 30 years until his retirement in 1992, and was respected by all in the industry. He loved his family dearly; each one had a special place in his heart. A man of his word and living by the saying “Right’s right – Wrong’s wrong.”
“Papaw,” an avid sportsman, was so proud to have grandsons he could teach and respect the sport of hunting and fishing. His hunting “buddies” will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Ellen Pitts; sisters, Lou Blalock, Catherine Bowman, Erma Jones and Wanda Wilson; brothers Kenneth Pitts and Jake Pitts.
Perry is survived by the love of his life and best friend of 64 years, Frances Wade Pitts. Their marriage was the perfect love story! He is survived by his daughters, Judy Murphy and partner Larry Hawkins, Linda Bundrick and partner David Loudermilk; grandchildren, Melissa Bolton, Angela Skillingstad and husband Monty, Ashley Hebert and husband Michael; great grandchildren, Cameron and Cole Davis and Brandon and Blake Bolton and their father Chuck Bolton; great -great –grandchildren, Kynsie Davis and Ashton Hebert,brother Phillip R. Pitts as well as all his loving in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews who called him “Uncle Dink” and many friends which all loved him and respected the way he lived his life. We will miss him greatly, but never forget our special memories with him.
