BROOKS, ARCHIE JONATHAN, age 61 of Corryton, went to sleep May 29th and awoke May 30th in Heaven. Archie strived to pattern his life like his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a charter member and deacon of God Saving Grace Missionary Baptist Church. He touched many lives as a youth softball and basketball coach. Archie never met a stranger and always shared his faith with everyone. He is preceded in death by daughter, Rachel; Parents, Archie F and Mossie Brooks. He is survived by wife of 40 years, Myra Johnson Brooks; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Kristy Brooks, Matthew and Shautia Brooks; daughter and son-in-law, Rebekah and Anthony Allen; grandchildren, whom he dearly loved, Alexis, Jordan, Haley, Chyanne, Tyler, Ashlynn, Isaiah, Taylor, Braylon, Whitley, and Landon; sister, Sherry Fell; sister and brother-in-law, Violet and Donald Arnwine; niece, Stephanie Abbott; nephew, Samuel Wolf; special aunts-in-law, Pauline Chamberlain and Rosamae Johnson; and many friends. Pallbearers will be, J.T. Byrge, Shaun Ray, James Courrier, Steve Helm, Samuel Wolf, Donald Arnwine, Jason Morgan, and Darell Finley. The family will receive friends, Monday, June 2, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. A funeral service will be held at God Saving Grace Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 2:00pm.
