Roberta J. Beckelman, 82, of Phoenix passed away on June 3, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Beckelman, son Jeffrey Baker and daughters Janine L. Motisi and Karen Wagner. Roberta is survived by her sons: David D. Baker, G. Kevin Baker, Kurt Beckelman, Michael D. Baker, Richard L. Baker, daughters: Michelle D. Baker, Mari K. Rawleigh. She is also survived by her brothers: Jon and Howard Potts and sisters: Beverly J. Jennings and Linda Potts. Before retiring in 1993, Roberta worked for Avis Rent-A-Car as a reservation sales agent. She also worked with children with learning disabilities in school offices and volunteered as a kindergarten teacher. She said “Teaching has always been the one thing that I enjoyed more than any other.” Roberta was also a woman who was strong in her faith, regularly attending and volunteering at the Deer Valley Lutheran Church. But above all else, Roberta loved and cherished her family; being a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 11:00 AM at Deer Valley Lutheran Church 220 W. Union Hills Dr. Phoenix.
