Dunn, NC Mr. Howard C. Bryant, 93, of Dunn died Friday morning at Gabriel Manor in Clayton. He was born May 5, 1921 in Sampson County, son of the late Tilghman Claudius Bryant and Iva Adel Byrd Bryant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine J. Bryant, a son, Howard J. Bryant, five brothers and seven sisters. Mr. Bryant was a US Army veteran having served in World War II. He was employed by Wellons Candy Company for many years and retired as Production Manager with Bemco Mattress Company. He worked part-time with Bemco for many years after his retirement. He was an active member of Gospel Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church having served in many capacities including Deacon, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday school teacher, usher, and member of the choir. He also was President of the Luther Davis Sunday School class. The family will receive friends at Gospel Tabernacle Sunday from 3:00 - 4:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. at the church with Rev. King White, Rev. Ken Milliken and Rev. Danielle Maynor officiating. Burial will follow at Banner Chapel Church Cemetery in Benson. Mr. Bryant is survived by two daughters, Elaine B. Lee and husband Stan of Clayton and Becky B. Walton and husband Danny of Willow Spring, daughter-in-law, Marsha J. Bryant of Dunn, grandchildren, Sherry L. Faw and husband Todd, Grayson S. Lee and wife Shannon, Kevin H. Bryant and wife Whitney, Ashley T. Bryant, Heather W. Johnson and husband Jason and Christopher Walton, great grandchildren, Joshua Faw, Amber Faw, Addison Faw, Madison Lee, McKenzie Lee, Cooper Bryant and Addison Johnson, and one great-great grandchild, Ryan Faw. Mr. Bryant was a faithful husband and was devoted to his family and church. He was a Godly man who loved people and even during his years of sickness he continued to influence many people by his witness. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all who cared for him during his sickness and especially the staff at Gabriel Manor in Clayton and Amedysis Hospice.
