Lewis "Lew" E. Woolard Sr.

Woolard, Lewis E. "Lew", Sr. , 93, of Wichita, Kansas passed away Wed. Mar. 7, 2018 in Wichita. Lew was born the son of Charles and Maude Woolard on April 9, 1924 in Kansas. Lew served in the United States Navy during WWII as a SeaBee. Lew was a member of Dawson UMC in Wichita. He was a Past Master of the North Star Blue Masonic Lodge in Wichita and also a duel member of the Masonic Home Lodge. He was a Past Patron at North Star OES. Also PP of Wichita Court #11 and also a GPP with OoA. He was a lifelong member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Retired Brick Master Mason after 40 years in the industry. He was a lover of Jesus and was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Orville and Eugene, sister, Della Burch. Survivors include his wife, Juli Woolard, children, Ed (Korry) Woolard, Jr., Lu Ann Julian, grandchildren, Jay (Amanda) Szambecki, Brian (Stormy) Hansen, Travis Covey and Timothy Covey, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, Roxy, Rhonda and nephews, Rick and David. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30pm on Mon. Mar. 12, 2018 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Celebration of Life services will be 2pm on Tues. Mar. 13, 2018 at Dawson UMC, 2741 S. Laura St., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation c/o Jo Jennings, 608 S. Walnut, Douglass, KS.
