Anthony Narushka

He served in the United States Army from 1945 through 1947 in the 82nd Airborne Division and was also a Glider Paratrooper. He was a member of the VFW and proudly wore his ribbons at their many events.

Tony attended school in Louisville, Kentucky and was employed at Martin Marietta for over 30 years as a Senior Aerospace Engineer. He moved to Orlando, Florida in 1958 with the opening of Martin Marietta with his wife Delores and son Anthony, and soon welcomed Alex to the family. While working at Martin Marietta, Tony began to acquire duplex rental units and maintained them throughout Orlando for many years. His entrepreneur skills didn’t stop there. He soon opened a pizza parlor on Curry Ford Road in the early 1970s called “Dino’s” which became a local “hangout” and another successful business adventure.

He was an accomplished accordion and violin player and could play songs from hearing them. He was a member of the Polish American Pulaski Club and previously served on their Board of Directors and he greatly enjoyed the Polka dances on Sundays at the club, showing off his accomplished Polka dancing.

He served the Catholic Church in Orlando by helping with the many projects at St. John Vianney.

In the early 1990s, he helped his oldest son, Tony, start a “scissor lift” in Warsaw, Poland called “Instant Polska”. It continues to be a successful and thriving business in Poland.

Tony’s fun time was his passion. He became an accomplished fisherman from Port Canaveral, hooking Cobia and Tripletail as well as many of varieties of fish, to Chokoloskee, Florida where he knew the 10,000 islands like the back of his hand. He shared his adventures with his sons and their friends. From catching Snook to Redfish to Trout to diving for lobster. Many young men experienced unforgettable trips that taught them well.

He enjoyed his hunting trips with his brothers out West for pheasant and antelope as well as hunting for deer in Georgia with his sons, creating special memories and making many lasting friends.

In his later years he enjoyed keeping his mind sharp by playing poker at the Poker Room in Daytona and traveling to Costa Rica, Poland and throughout Europe. He also traveled the United States extensively from Alaska to the Florida Keys.

Tony was a giving and compassionate man who could help many people in any way he could. He would always let you know what’s on his mind, but would always give you a loving smile.

He is survived by: his loving wife of 14 years, Janet; son, Alex; brothers, Raymond and Nick Narushka; step daughter, J’Nine and her husband, Greg; and step granddaughter, Ariel Perkowski.

He was predeceased by: former wife, Delores Narushka; brother, Mike Narushka; and son, Tony Narushka.

Services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida with a Visitation on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 5:00-8:00pm and a Funeral Service on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1:00pm.
