Born in Reynolds, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Washington and Lucille Fountain Pool. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women with a Bachelors of Science Degree.
As a child, Sara was honored with the title “Little Miss Reynolds, Georgia” In her younger years, Sara enjoyed and was a talented bowler. She enjoyed playing golf and had a tremendous passion for gardening and working in her yard. When Sara was in good health, she was an active member of the Red Hat Society and St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Greenville SC.
A son, Richard Keith Young Jr. and wife Alice Darby Young and a grandson, Andrew Christopher Young, all of Greer SC., survive Mrs. Young. Also surviving Mrs. Young is a brother, Dan Pool of Marietta, Georgia. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Keith Young; her parents, Thomas Washington and Lucille Fountain Pool; and brother, Tom Pool Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 14, 2018 at 11:30 am in the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville. SC 29609. The family will receive friends from 10:30am-11:30am at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
