NEWTON – Raymond Lee Hyde, 67 of Newton went home to be with his Lord on April 25, 2018 at Catawba Regional Hospice.
Born on February 6, 1951 in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Fletcher and Mellie Cook Hyde. Raymond was a member of Grace Communion Hickory. He retired from Hickory Construction Company after forty plus years. Raymond loved watching NASCAR and the WWE. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Charlotte Murray Hyde of Newton; children, Alan Hyde and wife Beth of Kernersville, Sara Williams and husband Bradley of Mooresville; grandsons, Matthew, Jonathan, Ian, Austin; brother, Dan Hyde and wife Donna of Mt. Holly; sisters, Kay Persky of KY, Linda Little of Pikeville, NC, Norene Snellings of TX; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1 PM at Catawba Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 -1 PM at the funeral home.
