DELCAMBRE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Alvin John Thibodeaux, the former Janet Thibodeaux, age 82, at 10:00 am on Friday May 11, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Buddy Breaux officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church from 9:00 am until service time. A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 am by St. Anne’s Altar Society.
A native and resident of Delcambre, Janet passed away on May 9, 2018 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Born on October 15, 1935 to the late Joseph Mandes and Edna Landry Thibodeaux, Janet was one of six children. She was a devoted catholic and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Janet lived her faith and put god first and foremost in her life. She was a member of St. Anne’s Altar Society and Come Lord Jesus. Janet was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed every moment spent with family and friends. She especially looked forward to holidays when all her children and grandchildren would gather to celebrate and have a good time. Janet was an avid traveler. Together with her friends, she visited the United States from coast to coast. Janet will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Phillip “Phil” Thibodeaux and Terri Landry of Delcambre; daughters, Shelley T. Migues and husband Johnny of Delcambre and Mary Thibodeaux of Maurice; sister, Judy LeBlanc of Lafayette; grandchildren, Mindy Migues, Allison Migues, Alicia Migues, Kyle Migues, Lacey Desormeaux, Dane Thibodeaux, Jade Willis, Shawn Duhon, and Desiree Duhon; and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin John Thibodeaux; son, Eric Thibodeaux; parents, Joseph Mandes and Edna Landry Thibodeaux; brother, Carroll Thibodeaux; and sister, Marjorie Broussard, Ramona Lindberg, and Heloise Neef.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Migues, Jason Huval, Steve Neef, Gary LeBlanc, Dane Thibodeaux, and Kyle Migues.
