I know Marvel, via Wesley.

They have that something special.

I should have been to her funeral.  I hope Wesley, she and the family would forgive my shortcomings.

I remember my dad (Charles Doyle) and I would stop by every so often, and I remember them both (Marvel and Wesley) coming over to Dad's house.

Invariabley, one or the other Dad or Marvel would start... and Marvel would say things along the lines of "Charles Doyle, I'm going to come over and just slap the ---- out of you".

Those are the things I miss the most about her.

I miss her. 

I sincerely wish Wesley and their family only the best.

Marvel, you're missed, so very much.

 

I grew up with Sherry and Rick.  I was in love with her family.  I loved Wesley Richard Culwell and I used to write his name over and over again.  Wesley "gave me an old appoloosa pony (I called Mr. Golfer) .  I loved that horse.  My dad bought me a new pair of boots and Mr. Golfer stepped on my boot, the first day.  Wesley told me I was a real cow-girl then.  Marvel was the sweetest, kindest mom, she never denied me of spending the night with Sherry.    Sherry and I had our children at the same age.  Both Milissa and Shane were 3 yrs old when we met up again after high school.  We got an apartment together and made some more memories.  Marvel's mom lived next door and she thought the kids were so cute.  Marvel just amazed me.  She was so unlike anyone I had ever known.  She was 12 years younger than my mom.  She would jump in the car at the drop of a hat and run down to 7-11 and buy us all cokes and bring back.  She was a great driver, I think she was the driver of the family.  Most importantly was the way her and Wesley would look at each other.  It was love story you could see immediately.  He loved her.  She loved him.  No question.  He let her get away with anything, he was so easy going and they both welcomed me, anytime, everytime. I loved spending the night, combing the horses, staying up late, and Rick was the honery little brother we both loved.  I'm so happy she had such a big family, especially children.  I'm sure each one of them were blessed by her as well as Sherry and Rick and Wesley.  We will see her again and all rejoice together someday.       Thanks for all the memories, Susan Mulanax

I have known Marvel all of my life, literally.  She was one of the most wonderful, crazy ladies I know. She was always there for a chat when you stopped by to see her. She made the most delicious home made bread.  But most importantly she was my grandmother, Zelma's, best friend.  I own miniature donkeys and have a pair named Zelma and Irving after my grandparents.  On April 22 the most  beautiful baby donkey was born and I named her Marvel Agnes, not knowing I would be losing her namesake so soon afterwards.  I never got to tell Marvel or show her a picture of the beautiful baby but wanted to share her with the family. Marvel will be greatly missed. 

Rest in peace dear auntie
You'll be missed by all who knew you.
