Wendy Dorene Ruiz, of Koloa, Hawaii, born on September 14, 1964 in Waimea, Hawaii, to the late Edith Ruiz and Donald, passed away at age 53 on May 13, 2018 in Phoenix, Arizona. Wendy went to Koloa Elementary School and graduated from Kauai High School. She later attended Kapiolani Community College. Wendy was the beloved partner of Paul Buse. She was preceded in death by her brother, Derek Ruiz; grandmothers, Margaret Ruiz and Ichiko Marugame; and grandfathers, Damascio Ruiz and Jisuo Marugame. Wendy is survived by her father, Donald Ruiz, brother, Scott Ruiz; and sister, Donna Moises. She also leaves behind her greatly loved dogs, Kina and Sonora. She loved hiking and traveling with family. The family invites donations in Wendy's name to Hospice of the Valley. Forms for donations will be available at the services or go to their website at www.hov.org and make a donation in memory of Wendy Ruiz. Friends and family are welcome to attend the celebration of life service on Saturday, June 9th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary at 710 W Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013. A second celebration of life will take place in Hawaii, officiated by Niles Kageyama, on Saturday, July 7 from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Koloa Missionary Church, 3370 Poipu Rd, Koloa.
Casual or Aloha attire at Celebration of Life at both locations is requested by the family.
