Brian Patrick Willett

Brian Patrick Willett passed away Saturday May 12, 2018. Brian was born to Arthur Edwin Willett and Peggy Powers Willett on July 11, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He grew up in Albuquerque and graduated from Del Norte High School. He worked as a construction tradesman while attending the University of New Mexico where he received his Bachelor and Law degrees. He practiced civil and criminal law in Hobbs, Socorro, Alamogordo, and Albuquerque New Mexico.

After moving to Odessa, Brian became a member of the Rainbow House’s support group. He was an integral part of the Men’s Group start up and eventually became strong enough in his mental health condition to become employed as a Peer Support Provider. Brian offered support to peers as anyone could go to him with an issue and he would actively listen. He was fascinated with the law and diligently kept up with current events, often sharing the news with co-workers, peers, family, and friends.

Brian was an active boy growing up. Riding bikes in his neighborhood, building pigeon coups with his grandmother, going fishing trips with family, and working on cars with his buddies. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, boxing, playing football and riding motorcycles. He achieved the rank of Star in Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his son Nathan Reims, sister Dr. Anita Gomez, brothers Charles Willett, Dr. Michael McCrary dad, Herb McCrary. His caring heart and warm smile will be missed by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, in laws and friends.

Brian’s memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 25th at Rainbow House, 1012 MacArthur Ave., Odessa, TX 79763. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, we would like any memorials to be made to the Rainbow House.
