Herman Ralph Kanipe Sr.

WEST COLUMBIA - Herman Ralph Kanipe, Sr., 78, was received into heaven on May 15, 2018. Herman was the son of the late Frank and Edith Kanipe. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Loftis Kanipe; his son, "Ralph" Kanipe, Jr. (Marlo); granddaughter Alana Kanipe Miller (Paul), and great-grandsons, Jonah and Caleb. Also surviving are his brothers, Sam Kanipe and Bill Kanipe (Hazel) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Randy Virgil Kanipe and half-brother Elston Segars. He was a 1958 graduate of Olympia High School, served in the SC National Guard and retired from American Solid Woven. He was an avid fisherman and golfer.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Willow Ridge Church, 104 Sycamore Tree Road, Lexington, SC 29073, with burial to follow at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Willow Ridge Church. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
