Paul L. Showers

Paul Leon Showers, 96, formerly of Mechanicsburg, went to be with the Lord on May 18, 2018. He was at Thornwald Home, surrounded by his loving family. Born January 9, 1922 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mary Showers.

Paul graduated from William Penn High School in 1940. He was a United States Army veteran. He was stationed in Europe during World War II. It was while in Northern Ireland that he met the late Elizabeth Magee. They were married in April of 1944. He retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Shiremanstown. Paul enjoyed studying the Bible and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.

In addition to his parents and wife of nearly 67 years, Paul was preceded in death by his siblings Vivian Stutzman Michaels, Mary Rathfon, Samuel Showers, and David Showers.

Paul is survived by his son John (Ellen), grandchildren Jo Ellen, Andrew (Caroline), and Timothy (Amber), great-grandson Jacob, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St., Camp Hill on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at 1:00PM. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Bryan Sanders will be officiating.
