Freelum G. Young, 82, of Baytown, TX passed away May 29, 2018. He was born September 4, 1935, raised in Baytown, and attended Baytown schools. After graduation he worked 35 years in the Oil Fields of West Texas. After retirement, he returned to Baytown and pursued his trade as a mechanic and he also worked in Auto Parts Delivery in Mont Belvieu, TX. Freelum was a member of the First Baptist Church, and his hobbies were repairing small engines and automobiles. He is preceded in death by his one and only loving wife of 52 years, Ethel Young, and by his parents. He is survived by his only daughter, Marion Gipson of Baytown, TX, son, John Reese of Lufkin, TX, grandchildren, Rhonda Gray of Beach City, TX, Mindy Lindsay of Baytown, TX, Felix Gipson Jr. of Baytown, TX, and Donald Gipson of Baytown, TX and brother-in-law Billy Ray Davis of Lufkin, TX. A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 from 5-8PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home Chapel, 3919 Garth Rd. Baytown, TX 77521. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home Chapel and Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd. Baytown, TX 77521.
