Ralph J. Bednar

78, of Tampa, passed away on Thursday, June 7th. He was born and raised in Ohio and came to the Tampa Bay area in 1991. He graduated from the University of Dayton and became a CPA. He is a U.S. Army veteran. He was the director of internal audit for North and South America with GTE (now Verizon) and retired in 2000. Ralph was an officer and director of the Tampa Sportsmen and was a member of Tampa Bay Sporting Clays. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlie Bednar. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Rake; step-son, Brian (Gina) Hozian; grandchildren: Morgan, Kayla, Ellie, and Arlie; and brother, Harold Bednar. The burial will take place in Ohio and a local Tampa memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Metropolitan Ministries.
