Mr. Marvin Eugene Cline

Gene was born November 14, 1932 in Kannapolis, North Carolina to the late Marvin Morris Cline and Ada Belle Murdock Cline. He served four years in the US Navy. He also worked for 27 years, 1959-1987 for the Statesville Fire Department. He enjoyed antique tractors, classic cars and playing harmonica. He was a Godly man, studied the scripture and enjoyed discussing scriptural things. Gene was a family man who loved the company of his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters, Joann Cline Burrell and Jackie Cline and brother, Bobby Cline.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Rixie Capps Cline; sons, Michael Eugene (Linda) Cline and Morris Rickman (Darla) Cline; four grandchildren, Joshua (Kendayl) Cline, Jarred (Taylor) Cline, Allie Cline and Torie Cline; two great-grandchildren, Holly Cline and Maxwell Cline; sisters, Bernice Chamberline, Jayne (Tony) Miller and Joyce Brackett; brother, Wayne (Dottie) Cline and many other loving family members.

A funeral service will held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 2:30pm in Westmoreland Chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home officiated by Rev. John Parks. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens with Military and Fire Honors.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:30pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
