Randy was my first “big brother”. For almost 40 years I loved him for the way he treated me and other people.  We have many people in our lives filling certain voids we have.  I never ran into him once where I did not feel distant or disconnected.  Randy has an engaging spirit and it radiated.  It always will.

I remember Randy had no fear. He would tackle anything. One time we were at mom's/grandmother's house on Reynoldston as I recall a tree had died/fallen on the fence. We were working on moving the tree and Randy happened to be in the position where the tree wanted to go. He got out with some scratches and scrapes, but basically okay. 
Of course all of us were shaken up. 

Many years ago Randy starting working for the Canle Company in Duncanville,  one day he had to climb a pole using a safety belt and gaffes and shimmy up the pole....well needless to say he wasn’t  proficient at this and came sliding down the pole, holding onto it tightly..... then had to go to the Emergency Room and have ALL those telephone pole wooden splinters pulled out of his chest.....

When he got out,
I had come over to my house and we spent a whole day climbing the pole behind my house till he was proficient at being all the way at the top..... He conquered it.....

Later on I helped him get a job at Methodist in the maintenance dept.....and walla, he advance his craft and knowledge to several other companies thru-out his life 🤗

Randy will always hold a special place in our hearts. He touched our lives and we are truly blessed to have been a part of his life. 

I remember how proud he was of his Monte Carlo. He would take us on drives along 1382 when it was a two-lane road. 

Randy always had a story to tell and then he would hesitate waiting for a response grinning all the time and if he was joking, he would say "Got you" and just laugh. With Randy's sense of humor, one never knew if his story was real or a joke. That is why we loved him, he was one of a kind!

The Wagoner House was my favorite place to chill after school or anytime. I actually ate with the family a few times and Royce lived with me after high school. 

All four of the kids were special to me, but it was that sly little smile and smooth toned voice that made Randy so cool. He was an old soul in a young body even when he was 12 years old!  Fats Domino would echo through the house while we just shrugged our shoulders in the living room and wonder what made him listen to that over the biggest radio hits. 

His smile was genuine and quick to come across his face. The last time I saw Randy was in Lafayette for Royce’s surgery. I was there early and watched Royce pull up with Julie. I thought I was the first one there until I saw Randy and Theresa walk out of the shadows. He looked different but the same and the smile was better than ever. 

We talked for hours and I did not want to leave and return home. Theresa was a mirror to him and I enjoyed our trips down memory lane also. She knew so many of the same people I knew and loved in Duncanville. 

My heart goes out to Theresa and I will pray for her now because I know Randy is in a great place with all his love bed ones that have passed on. His fight is over and I am grateful he does not have to endure the pain further. He will be missed and thought of and loved forever.

I personally don't know Randy, but knew his relatives and was related to them by marriage.  I have heard stories about the grandparents and great grandparents and great uncles,etc.  My mother- in-law was Dora Mae Wagoner Tuggle.  They were all just as interesting as Randy and just as comical.  I am so sorry for your loss.  I am not able to come to the funeral as I will be out of state for a family reunion.  My prayers are with the family.

I’ve known Randy for over 32 years. He joined the Elliott family just 1 year after I did. From the beginning, he was always great fun to be around.  A big, kind and generous heart. Even in his last days when you knew he was in pain, he never complained. He always had a smile for you. I, personally, will forever  remember his sarcastic sense of humor. I could always zing him and he would just laugh. I’m greatfull to have had such a wonderful Brother-in-law.  

I met Randy shortly after I was born in November I’m pretty sure of it. My whole life I always looked forward to Royce and Randy’s. Not sure why it was Royce and Randy’s because Rusty and Tina were there most of the time.  There were times would go to Uncle Wayne and Aunt Joyce, but most of the time, David and I called it Royce and Randy. The teams would be (Royce and David v Me and Randy) or (Me and Royce v David and Randy) and when Rusty and Richie was around they would team up as well.  Anytime there was a gathering at Grannies we would ask if Royce and Randy were going to be there! If they were, then we knew we usually had a game of something, if it is only throwing a ball or flying kites and catching her grass on fire (late 60’s).
I remember one of the 1st phone numbers I learned was AX8-4474. Sometimes we would wear the phone (land line), up talking about life things.  Aunt Joyce would make us get off...
We rode bikes on I-20 as they were building it, (I think I remember when our parents would tell us to go play on a freeway…lol). 
I remember family outings to Sandy Lake Amusement Park in Carrollton in the 70’s as we were water rats like everyone else.  Bologna, Hot Dogs and chips were usually on the menu.  
I remember kicking field goals at the Jr. High in the 70’s. Randy was one of the few people that could do the belly roll…. I never could.
One summer he was going to start singing and taught me one of my 1st songs ever.” Johnny B Goode”
He got Royce’s Falcon Station Wagon and came to Irving just to hang out. We golfed, play pool and bowled as we were growing up and if you aren’t competing, you aren’t playing…lol
One of my 1st destinations with my driver’s license was to Royce and Randy’s
We have spent a few 4th of July’s together all through life and might have indulged in a Coors 
I know Randy loved his family more than anything. I know he will be missed and never forgotten.
 He was one of my life’s best friends and I Loved Him along with you all….. Jimmy


I worked with Randy for several years and through that time I saw the kind and gentle person that he was. He will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

Survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Elliott Wagoner; children, Rodney (Kacey) Mann, J.C. Mann, Stephanie (Jeremy) Weaver, Natalie (Warren) Childs; siblings, Royce (Julie) Wagoner and Tina (Steve) Hansen; grandchildren, Brady, Sammie, Warren II, Peyton, Karissa, and Jaycee; and many extended family members who shared Randy’s love and light.  

Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Joyce Wagoner; brother, Russell (Rusty) Wagoner; and grandparents, Lloyd and Vera Boyer, Raymond Wagoner, and Frankie Littrell.
