Macario Gonzales

He was born in Colorado City on August 31, 1960 to Ysidro and Dominga Sosa Gonzales.

Macario was a man that was set in his way who believed in hard work and love and loyalty to family. He was proud of the time he spent in the Army where he served for over 4 years making it to the rank of a Sargent. Family meant the world to Macario, he made sure to call his parents everyday just to see how they were doing, and he enjoyed being with his grandchildren every chance he got. He enjoyed his work at TDCJ as he got to supervise others, which he continued to do even after his retirement in August of 2015, just because he liked things done his way.

Macario is survived by his parents, Ysidro and Dominga Gonzales of Colorado City, by his wife of 14 years Joanna Gonzales who he married on May 15, 2004, by his sons Macario Gonzales Jr. and wife Toni of Colorado City and Anthony Gonzales of Muleshoe, by a daughter Ashley Gonzales and significant other Tony Rivera of Coloado City, and by his step-children Daniel Austin of McKinney, Derek Austin and wife Patsi of El Paso, Hunter Austin of McKinney, and Shelby Zonghi and husband Joseph of Port St. Lucie Florida. He is also survived by his siblings Fabian Gonzales of Colorado City, Juan Gonzales of Ackerly, Dora Alaniz and husband Tony Sr. of Westbrook, Margarita Gonzales of Ft. Worth, Petra Nunez of Ft. Worth and Frances Soliz of Tyler. Numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Pablo Gonzales and Rosendo Gonzales

A funeral service for Macario will be held on Saturday June 30th at 10 am at the Kiker Seale Funeral home with Pastor Herb Roever of the Loraine First Baptist Church officiating, interment with military rites will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Friday, June 29th at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home from 6-8 pm with a rosary to be held at 7 pm.
