Joseph Michael Schafer

He was born in Roseville in 1942 to Helen and George Schafer. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School and then joined the Air Force for 4 years where he was stationed in Spokane, Washington. After the service he joined his brothers and father at Ideal Cabinets. He loved God, his family, camping, fishing, boating, hunting, bowling, beanbags, coffee and beer. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia and children, Bonny (Chris), Joseph, Rebecca, Holly (Michael), Jamie, Katrina, Andrew and thirteen grandchildren, his siblings James (Dana), Judy Grewette, Joannie (Patrick) Langan, Mary (Howard) George, Daniel (Maria), David (Shari), Karen (Tom) Hakim, Thomas (Rene), Patricia (Jim) Madigan, Susie and sister-in-law, Nancy and brother-in-law Danny Langan and sister-in-law Sandy. Predeceased by his siblings George, John, Jerry, Margie and Jeannie. Visitation Sunday from 2-8pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Avenue, Roseville. In state Monday 9:30 am until time of funeral mass at 10am at Holy Innocents, 26100 Ridgemont St, Roseville, MI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Haiti Goat Project.
