My condolences to the family and to Tom.  Dorothy was a class act and the sweetest person I've known in my life.  Marc and I knew Dorothy through Tom's political career and I always appreciated that she was herself throughout that whole time.   Marc and I will always keep her sweet memory in our heart. My sincere condolences to the family, especially to my childhood friend, Cheryl.  I remember Dorothy well because I spent so much time at Hazel Fletcher's house playing with Cheryl.  Dorothy used to come by for visits and I'd see her around town and at Macy's once I got older.  It was always a pleasure to see her -- love to all.

This school year, starting at 7:30 am, I volunteered daily to help with traffic safety at the Monterey Bay Charter School (MBCS) on David Avenue. That's how I met Dorothy and Eddie. I looked forward to chatting with her and hearing Eddie's greeting barks  as they often walked past our school. I always wanted to ask her how she was doing. She shared about her illness, yet always with a spirit of optimism and determination.  Dorothy would often still be out taking her walks with Eddie even in most kinds of Pacific Grove weather. 

The last time that I saw Dorothy was in the late afternoon on June 19th when I was at school to attend a Board meeting.  I was glad to see her because school closed for the summer on June 7th and I had wondered how she was. Dorothy was walking with Eddie and when I asked her how she was doing, she shared about her struggles and Eddie's recent issues, but with a similar determination that I had heard from her throughout the year. When I wished her well, she shared,  "We're trying", she said, as she continued on her walk. 

 I will miss seeing Dorothy and her walking partner, Eddie. I was fortunate to have met her. My sincerest condolences to her family. What a wonderful video tribute!

My husband and I are new to P.G., and Dorothy was the kind neighbor who always made us feel welcome, was patient with us...answering all of our "new in town" questions.   We are dog walkers and naturally shared many dog walking stories together.   We will miss her smile and her kind, soft voice.   She was the sweet lady across the street who always waved and smiled a big "Hi" as she took little Eddie for his evening walk.  Our love goes out to her...wherever she may be.   We will miss you Dorothy.    

Our deepest condolences to the family.  May the memories of Dorothy and the love of family and friends surround you and give you strength in the days ahead.  It was not hard to recall a favorite memory of Dorothy  - her calamari steaks - they were the best.   Our thoughts  and prayers are with you.
