He passed into eternity once again meeting up with the love of his life on July 8th, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas.
He married Fannie Lou McMenamy on February 2, 1950 in Lubbock, Texas.
He spent his youth living on a farm south of Wolfforth, Chicago, Dallas, Sherman, Merkel, Fort Worth, Whitewright and back to the farm. He graduated from Frenship High School in 1940 and attended Texas Technological College.
He joined the Army, days after Pearl Harbor was bombed and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He worked for a while as a Lubbock Police Officer and as a Lubbock Fireman. He worked as an insurance adjuster in Odessa, Fort Stockton and Plainview retiring in 1985.
He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church and served in many leadership positions.
He became a Mason in 1963 and was a member of the Blue Lodge, York Rite, Commandery, Scottish Rite and the Shriners. He became a 33rd Degree Mason.
He loved to volunteer and served on the Plainview Children’s Protective Service Board for several years. He volunteered with the Covenant Hospital Auxiliary amassing 6338 hours of service. He loved children and assisted elementary children with taking computer based tests in the Plainview schools.
He was preceded in death by his wife Fannie Lou Sears and his parents.
He leaves behind his son, Larry Sears; his daughter, Carolyn Marshall; grandson, Jason Sears & his wife Katy Sears; granddaughters, Amanda Marshall Campbell & her husband Darryl Campbell, Kelli Medina & husband Jason Medina; great-grandchildren: Mason Neel, Lawson Sears, Marshall Medina, Sloane Medina and Beau Medina and a brother, David Sears.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., July 11, 2018 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
